How buying decisions work

Order must remain: Excellent < Good ≤ Buy < Maybe. Above the Maybe ceiling is NO BUY — BAD BSR.

Inventory limit: 0 = off. When enabled, count available + reserved + shipped/receiving units across connected US stores. At the limit: NO BUY. Missing inventory data: NO BUY until checked. Warehouse stock and unshipped scout purchases are not included.

Normal buys must meet both Source % and MAX SCOUT PRICE, including estimated purchase tax. Default: $70. 0 disables only the dollar cap. Buyers must rescan after a change.

ADMIN PROFIT EXCEPTION: May exceed either price limit only when BSR meets the shared BUY threshold, net profit is above $40, and ROI is above 60%. Profit includes estimated fees, purchase tax, inbound/prep allowance and the fixed sourcing cost. Product, price and Amazon restriction safeguards still apply. Scout permissions are controlled per account in SCOUT ACCOUNTS.

NET BEFORE COST below the configured minimum is an automatic NO BUY. Enter shelf prices before tax; Scout adds the estimated purchase tax to COGS for decisions.

Fixed sourcing cost is deducted once, including the scout commission. It applies to Admin and every scout.

US referral fallback: footwear 15%; apparel 5% up to $15, 10% through $20, then 17%; minimum $0.30. Accessories can have a different Amazon fee category. Amazon’s returned estimate takes precedence. Inbound + prep remains your separate allowance.

Inbound + prep is your combined allowance, not an Amazon quote. Cover prep labor/materials, transport into FBA and applicable inbound placement here. The $2 default is unchanged pending your actual costs; simple bag-and-label apparel prep alone can be lower.

After Store Cost is confirmed, Scout can upgrade a weak-BSR item to BUY only when its before-tax shelf price is this far below the normal safe suggested buy price. A variation-price outlier uses the family-safe ceiling. BSR above 1M is never rescued automatically.
